experience-centered photography for couples that want a beautifully documented + meaningful wedding day
What happens when you bring together some of the most creative, talented, incredible female wedding vendors under one roof for a styled wedding shoot at one of the best indoor wedding venues in Portland, Oregon?
To put it simply: magic.

Organized by the wonderful Dakotah Karn, designer extraordinaire and founder of Darling Elm Co., this styled shoot was truly a dream to be a part of. The swoon-worthy space, Easton Broad, is an award-winning venue for a reason: its floor-to-ceiling windows and greenery-filled walls made for a picturesque backdrop. Cierra, of Cierra Design Studio fame, pulled double duty as both the model and the illustrator behind the stunning stationary featured in the shoot. And finally, what would a styled wedding shoot be without a stunning bridal gown to steal the show? Ania Bridal brought the goods with a beautiful dress from their shop in SW Portland.

So, yeah, see what I mean now when I say this was truly an all-star cast of the city’s best, most creative minds in the industry? When I say it was an honor to photograph this styled wedding shoot, I mean it from the depths of my soul. These photos are the best of #WeddingInspo. Here’s how it all came together.
Step inside Easton Broad, and you’ll immediately understand why it’s considered one of the best indoor wedding venues in Portland, Oregon twice (in 2024 and 2025) by Oregon Wedding Day. Imagine an Instagram-worthy wedding venue mixed with a beautifully chic greenhouse, plus a built-in bar for good measure. It has all the beauty of an airy, garden-inspired setting, but with the comfort and reliability of an indoor wedding venue, which is especially valuable for couples planning around Portland’s unpredictable weather.
That’s Easton Broad. With more than 100 plants adorning the space and gorgeous natural lighting streaming in through the venue’s many huge windows, it’s hard to not fall instantly in love.

Located in NE Portland, near Mississippi, Williams, and Lloyd Districts, Easton Broad is truly a blank canvas (well, besides the greenery everywhere) for whatever you might be dreaming up for your wedding or event. The exposed wood ceiling and polished concrete floors add that modern industrial flare that looks sophisticated without being over the top. If you’re looking for an indoor wedding venue in Portland that still feels bright, natural, and full of life, you’d be hard pressed to find one better than Easton Broad. We’re so grateful the team partnered with us to provide such a beautiful backdrop to our styled wedding shoot.
With Easton Broad’s beautiful greenery setting the stage in the background, the vision for the shoot was clear from the get go: garden romantic. Dakotah really nailed it with the design and florals here. The cascading vines draping in and out of the shot from above, and the lush organic flower arrangements with anthurium, sweet peas, and perfectly-balanced greenery really rounded out the ‘garden’ part of the vision.

Add to that the gorgeous stationary designed by Cierra, the burgundy taper candles, brass accents, and rich earthy color palette, and you can see where the ‘romantic’ part of the equation comes into play in the design vision. I mean, c’mon. Look through these photos and tell me it doesn’t feel like you’re stepping into a secret garden right in the middle of downtown Portland!

My favorite part of working with creative powerhouses like these ladies is always the intentionality in every detail. Beautiful things — weddings, design, photographs, stationary, gowns, etc. — don’t just happen by chance. They take years of dedication to the craft, an eye for beauty, and a passion for that specific level of creativity to bring moments like this to fruition.
It’s not a surprise then that the details were absolutely next level, as you can see from the pictures. Let’s start with the tablescape, because it ranks up there among the favorites I’ve photographed. Dakotah layered a plaid linen base with a beautiful, perfectly-overflowing centerpiece. The florals were the main attraction, but don’t sleep on the deep burgundy taper candles and the sweetest little brass hummingbird heirloom-like accent pieces that really rounded out the whole look and feel. The result was romantic without being fussy, and editorial without feeling untouchable.

We certainly can’t forget the stationery. Cierra designed the beautiful lace-edged menu cards that felt like they could’ve come straight from a garden party in France. The floral illustrations, the delicate trim, the contrast with the dark brown napkins. Every detail was considered, and it showed.
Last, but certainly not least: the gown. Ania Bridal came through with a strapless lace dress that honestly stole the show. The shorter, more playful silhouette was such a fun contrast against the moody, romantic table setting. And from my perspective, it photographed like a dream.

As you can see, Portland is full of insanely talented creatives, and I’m so grateful to get to work with so many incredible ones.
