experience-centered photography for couples that want a beautifully documented + meaningful wedding day
There’s something magical about a luxury micro wedding – and it’s even more special when it’s a Del Mar Villa wedding. If you ever wondered what the perfume Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana smells like in visual form, this shoot is the personification of that scent. This intimate micro wedding shoot was sooo romantic, luxe, and truly the wedding of our dreams.
The intimacy, the attention to detail, and the opportunity to create a deeply personal and elevated experience make micro weddings a favorite for a lot of my couples. And this editorial session at Del Mar Villa is the perfect example of how to do it in style!
This styled shoot wasn’t just about elegance—it was about showcasing how even a small guest list can be paired with big design moments, and a really elevated feel! From romantic florals to unique paper goods and vintage accents, every detail reflects a wedding day that feels just as luxurious as it does personalized.
Let’s start with the florals of this shoot, because they were truly a showstopper. Overflowing arrangements and carefully arranged blooms added texture, dimension, and that unmistakable feeling of indulgence. The floral design leaned into softness and movement, allowing each arrangement to breathe and feel organic—like a blooming garden right in the heart of Oregon wine country! Whether framing the ceremony or accenting the tablescape, every floral touch felt intentional and elevated.
One of the most delightful surprises of this shoot was the custom stationery suite. It was far from typical—think playful patterns, refined illustration work, and unexpected color pairings that added flair. It told a story and made this different than other weddings. It hinted at the couple’s personality, their taste, and their joy—and that’s what makes wedding stationery so special. When done right, it becomes a piece of your legacy as a couple. (Annnd, when you have a smaller wedding, you often have a larger budget for these kind of details, because your intimate guest list keeps the price per person down!)
The color palette of this Del Mar Villa wedding shoot was both bold and refined. The unique pairing of earthy greens and rich browns created a sophisticated feel that felt fresh and distinctive. Paired with vintage-inspired details like an ornate perfume dish and an antique brooch, the result was a layered look that honored the past while embracing the present. I love these kinds of details for my couples!
These thoughtful details weren’t just pretty, but they added a sense of storytelling to the overall feel. It’s this type of cohesion that elevates a micro wedding from simple to luxurious.
If you haven’t discovered Del Mar Villa yet, let me introduce you to one of Oregon’s most romantic and luxurious venues. Tucked into the countryside in Dundee, it’s a hidden gem that feels like a slice of Europe, without ever leaving the PNW.
This feel is sooo hard to find in the northwest, and so pretty!! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by marble floors, arched ceilings, and refined finishes that feel straight out of an Italian villa. There’s nothing cookie-cutter or “wedding factory” about this space. It’s tasteful, timeless, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where every corner is photo-ready (trust me).
We love a romantic Taylor Swift worthy moment! I mean, can’t you just picture yourself walking down this staircase in a beautiful Love Story-esque dress? Basically, the spiral staircase inside Del Mar Villa is what wedding dreams are made of. Whether you’re making your way to your ceremony, sharing a quiet moment with your partner, or posing for dramatic portraits, this staircase adds drama and elegance in the best way.
The courtyard is the heart of this venue— and as a photographer, I can assure you it’s a perfect space for a first look or an intimate cocktail hour. Surrounded by architecture that feels both cozy and grand, it’s a spot that brings people together in such a beautiful way.
The yellow facade of Del Mar Villa is one of its standout features. Warm, welcoming, and perfectly golden hour-ready, it adds richness and vibrance to every photo. Against the lush Oregon greenery and romantic florals, it becomes the perfect backdrop for a luxury wedding.
Planning your own micro wedding or elopement and want it to feel luxe and elevated? Here are a few ideas, inspired by this shoot, to help you bring that high-end aesthetic to life, without going overboard.
One of our favorite details from this editorial shoot? The bride’s embroidered veil. It was delicate, detailed, and unlike anything you see off the rack. If you’re looking to make a statement that still feels classic, an embroidered or custom veil adds a rich layer of personality to your bridal look.
Your cake and dessert table are another opportunity to show off your style. In this shoot, crystal coupe glasses were used to present individual desserts, combining old-world elegance with a fresh, modern vibe. It’s little touches like this that make your wedding feel both luxe and creative.
Luxury weddings deserve to be captured with just as much care and artistry as they’re planned. That’s why choosing the right photographer is sooo important. You want someone who can deliver timeless, refined images, but also someone who understands your unique energy as a couple.
