experience-centered photography for couples that want a beautifully documented + meaningful wedding day
Celtin and Lexi’s vows at Rocky Hill wedding venue were surrounded by dozens of stunning, towering pine trees. Their intimate ceremony was held on a hand-built deck within private forest land in the Columbia River Gorge.
I mean… can you even imagine a wedding that magical?! I don’t blame you, I probably wouldn’t have believed it myself if I wasn’t there to photograph it.

Of all the beautiful wedding venues in Washington state that I’ve been lucky enough to visit, this one has skyrocketed to the top of my list. And for good reason. I mentioned the breathtaking trees standing sky-high around the property, and the hand-built deck that was sustainably designed and created by the local family that owns Rocky Hill.

But just wait! Until I tell you about how it’s located along the White Salmon River.
How you can spot Mt. Adams poking around the forested hills if you know where to look.
And, how incredible the surrounding wild lilacs and lilies of the valley make everything smell.
So yeah! Rocky Hill has leapfrogged its way to the top of my list of wedding venues in Washington state (and maybe anywhere?). And I have a feeling after you see these gorgeous pictures from Celtin and Lexi’s wedding, you’ll feel the same way.

Celtin and Lexi are the dream clients. They were fun, charming, and so incredibly sweet. And they have a love story to match those superlatives. Celtin, a Youth Pastor at A Jesus Church, and Lexi, an ER nurse in Newburg, met when they were each leading a youth group. Things took off pretty quickly, and after dating for a year, they jumped straight into wedding planning.
Though they both have pretty demanding jobs, they make up for it on their days off with all-day dates. And they always stay true to their roots of pouring into the younger generation, though now they get to do that life-changing work together, which is the best part.
They really are the sweetest people, and I’m so grateful they chose me to capture their big day.

Every time I think of Celtin and Lexi’s wedding, ‘enchanted’ is what always comes to mind first. It’s hard to not feel that way when you’re getting married amongst the trees. But these two really went above and beyond to extend that ‘enchanted’ feeling across every detail of their day.

That whimsical attention to detail has to start with the pastel-colored floral arrangements that adorned the tables, ceremony space, and reception hall.
Florals, when done right, can be so additive to the overall vibe and feel of a wedding day. And Celtin and Lexi really knocked theirs out of the park. They were beautiful and whimsical without being too much. The star of the show for any wedding at Rocky Hill should always be the wise old towering pines standing watch over the ceremony, and the beautiful pastel florals were the perfect complementary side kick.

Beyond the gorgeous florals and the breathtaking location, there were plenty of other swoon-worthy details at Celtin and Lexi’s wedding.
The simple-yet-classic linen tablescapes with bud vases, candles, and citrus fruits was a really beautiful look that really tied everything together. In keeping with the theme, the tablescapes were perfectly understated with a chic elegance that allowed the location to be the star of the show.
And perhaps my favorite detail of all? A cookie wall featuring lemon crinkle, double chocolate, and everything but the kitchen sink varieties. It was epic and would most certainly make anyone with a sweet tooth insanely jealous.

Celtin and Lexi had the best attitude about their day. They didn’t stress over details, and they were ready to go regardless of what the day brought.
They were getting married outside under the pines whether the weather was sunny, overcast, or rainy (which was very possible, this is the PNW after all.) Thankfully the weather was gorgeous and absolutely perfect — the cherry on top for an incredible couple on their biggest day.

If you’ve made it this far and you’re already picturing yourself saying “I do” under the pines at Rocky Hill…honestly, same.
Every single time I look back at these photos, I fall in love with this venue (and Celtin and Lexi) all over again. There’s just something about getting married in the middle of a forest in the Columbia River Gorge that’s hard to describe. But once you’ve seen these pictures, or been lucky enough to actually visit Rocky Hill, you totally get it.

And here’s the thing, you can do it! This can be your perfectly unique enchanted forest wedding.
Whether you’re dreaming of whimsical woodland nuptials like Celtin and Lexi’s, or you’ve got something completely different in mind, I would be beyond honored to be the one to capture it. I photograph weddings across Washington, Oregon, and the entire PNW. And, there is absolutely nothing that lights me up more than documenting your biggest life moments at stunning venues like this one.
