My Favorite Senior Photo Locations (And How I Help You Find the Perfect One)

One of the questions I get asked more than almost anything else.. “where should we even do senior pictures?” And honestly, I get it. There are SO many gorgeous senior photo locations out there. Picking one can feel a little overwhelming when you want the photos to actually feel like you.

I recently photographed April’s senior session on the Oregon Coast near Cannon Beach, and it reminded me just how much a good location can shape an entire gallery. So today I’m walking through some of my favorite senior photo locations, plus how I help every senior find the perfect one, whether you already know exactly what you want or have no idea where to start.

April’s Session: A Perfect Example of Location Variety

April’s session is honestly one of my favorites from this year. We started on a shaded coastal trail tucked between pines and coastal shrubs. From there, we walked out to the open dune grass, with sea stacks rising out of the water in the background. Then we made our way down to the shoreline for golden hour. We ended the evening on a hillside covered in blooming wildflowers.

Four completely different backdrops, one single session. That’s the magic of picking a senior photo location with range: you get so much variety in your final gallery without needing to drive all over town.

April wore two looks for her session. She started in a white eyelet mini dress with tall boots for the trail and dune shots, then changed into a flowier blush and white lace dress for the softer wildflower portraits.

Her hair was down in loose waves with a sweet braided crown detail, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers throughout. We even snuck in a portrait with her mom in the wildflowers, which is one of my favorite images from the whole gallery.

How to Choose Your Senior Photo Location
