experience-centered photography for couples that want a beautifully documented + meaningful wedding day
When it comes to planning a romantic photoshoot, choosing the right location makes all the difference. What made Jentrie and Brayden’s session so exciting was that we didn’t settle on just one. The day began at The Preserve McMinnville, a mansion with timeless character that carried the kind of storybook charm you’d expect in a Jane Austen novel. From there, we wandered through sandy dunes until the sound of waves and the Oregon coastline came into view. For couples dreaming of a romantic photoshoot at Cannon Beach, this spot is one of the most iconic places, and when you catch it at the right time, it feels like the whole shoreline belongs to you. That’s how it felt for Jentrie and Brayden as they shared a bottle of wine—a simple touch that felt relaxed, personal, and true to them.

Outfits play a huge role in how a gallery comes together. Jentrie and Brayden made thoughtful choices that gave their photos both variety and consistency. They began the day at The Preserve in slightly dressier outfits: soft fabrics and neutral tones that felt natural in the estate gardens. Later, they changed into more casual pieces for the beach, but kept the same neutral palette.
That consistency in color tied the two locations together, making the gallery feel seamless even as the mood shifted from elegant and serene to playful and windswept.

Choosing neutral colors gives your photos a timeless quality. Flowy dresses, linens, or layers that move with the wind look especially stunning against the coast. If you’re planning your own romantic photoshoot, think less about making a fashion statement and more about choosing pieces that let your connection and the landscape shine.

From choosing light fabrics to layering for unpredictable weather, it’s full of practical advice that will help you feel confident and comfortable while still looking amazing in front of the camera.

What made Jentrie and Brayden’s photos feel so personal was the wine. They both love it, so ending the evening with a glass together felt natural — a way to relax, enjoy the moment, and bring a piece of their story into the session. Instead of just being a pretty detail, it became something that reflected who they are as a couple.

If you’re looking for inspiration, here are a few simple ways to make your romantic photoshoot feel uniquely yours:

That’s the beauty of adding small touches that already matter to you. These personal details don’t distract from the photos — they anchor them, making the gallery feel less like a photoshoot and more like your story.

One of the most beautiful parts of Jentrie and Brayden’s romantic photoshoot is the contrast between The Preserve and Cannon Beach. Their gallery blended the quiet romance of a classic estate with the wild beauty of the coast, telling a story that felt layered and complete. With two locations and so many natural backdrops, you could easily fill a photo album from this one session alone.

And if you’re not sure which locations to choose for your own session, that’s one of my favorite parts of the process. I love finding spaces that reflect your story—whether that’s a stretch of windswept coast or a trail through towering evergreens, a quiet garden or a field of wildflowers, or the wide openness of a meadow or a rugged, rocky landscape. As an Oregon photographer, my job is to spot the places that will photograph beautifully, feel natural for you, and give your gallery that balance of intimacy and adventure.

Jentrie and Brayden’s session is a beautiful reminder that a romantic photoshoot is about more than the photos themselves: it’s about creating space to slow down, be present with your person, and celebrate your story. From the timeless calm of The Preserve to the windswept cliffs of Cannon Beach, their gallery captured both intimacy and adventure, woven together in a way that felt true to them.

If you’re starting to dream about your own romantic photoshoot, think about the pieces that make your relationship unique—the places you love, the details you hold onto, the small rituals that bring you joy. With the right styling and setting, your gallery can tell a story that lasts far beyond the moment it was captured.
As an Oregon and PNW photographer, I’d love to help you plan a session that feels like your story. Let’s dream up your photoshoot together and create something filled with beauty, intimacy, and memories you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
