I might be biased, but I truly believe fall is the best season for senior photos—especially in Bend. Why? Located right in downtown Bend, this park is full of giant trees that turn the most stunning shades of gold, orange, and red in the fall. The Deschutes River winds through, creating the perfect backdrop for cozy and intimate shots. Shevlin Park – Whimsical Park with a Creek

Shevlin Park is one of Bend’s most picturesque locations for senior photos, especially in the fall. This area is available at local session pricing. It has cozy aspen trees, a mountain view, cute wooden fences, open fields, and epic adventure vibes. Black Butte itself offers stunning panoramic views, making it a great mix of rustic charm and breathtaking scenery. Whether you’re hiking up for a scenic overlook or staying near the base for a more relaxed senior session, this location adds a timeless, adventurous feel to any senior photo session. 

Suttle Lake Lodge – Fall Colors with a Boat Dock and Cute Lodge

This location is included in a local session. Nestled among the towering pines, Suttle Lake Lodge is an incredible spot for senior photos, especially in the fall. The lake itself offers stunning reflections, and the surrounding trails provide a mix of rustic charm and serene beauty. Whether you want to pose on the dock with the water behind you, explore the wooded paths, or cozy up by the lodge’s outdoor fire pit, this location has so many options. The combination of water, trees, and warm autumn colors makes it a great place for timeless and outdoorsy Bend, Oregon senior pictures.

Sparks Lake – Dreamy Reflections & Open Meadows

For seniors who want an epic, adventurous backdrop, Sparks Lake is where it’s at. This lake is surrounded by the Cascades, and in the fall, the grasses and mountain views create the most peaceful setting. Let’s be real, this area is pretty year-round too! Sunrise or sunset sessions here? Absolutely unreal. We can even wade into the water a bit for one of those epic reflection shots, if you’re up to a little adventure!

Smith Rock State Park – Bold & Dramatic Outdoors Photos

If you live anywhere in the PNW, you’ve probably seen or heard of Smith Rock State Park at this point. This area can create really memorable senior photos. Towering rock formations, winding trails, and sweeping panoramic views make this place unlike anywhere else you could take your senior photos in Oregon. The contrast between the warm rock tones and the soft fall sky is next-level.  I highly recommend pairing this location with neutrals or a pattern you love for your senior outfit.

Soda Creek – Boho Vibes in a Hidden Gem

For a secluded, whimsical vibe, Soda Creek is a dreamy location. With a mix of golden meadows, flowing water, and stunning mountain views, it’s perfect for seniors who want a nature-focused session without the crowds. It’s one of those hidden gems that feels like a secret little escape—perfect for capturing your free-spirited side.

How to Get the Perfect Fall Senior Look

One of the best parts about a fall senior session? The outfits! Here are a few style tips to help you look and feel your best. When you book with me or one of my associate photographers, we work together to put together a mood board with your vision in mind, so that will help inspire your outfits too!

• Earthy Tones & Neutrals – Think warm browns, burnt oranges, deep greens, and creamy neutrals. These colors pop beautifully against Bend’s fall landscapes.
  
• Layer Up – Flowy dresses with chunky sweaters, flannels over a simple dress, or even adding a cozy blanket for some shots can add warmth and depth to your photos. Think about adding a cute scrunchie or a cozy scarf, for little pops of colors or a layered effect.
