Oregon is a stunningly beautiful state (I can confidently say this as a local!) The wildflowers in Oregon only add to its beauty. From purple Lupines to yellow Daisies and pink Prairie Stars, the landscape is sprinkled with beautiful foliage!
The best time to find wildflowers in Oregon is from late April through early August. This depends on the elevation and location though. During this time, the weather is warm enough to encourage the growth of wildflowers. And then the rains are usually plentiful enough to keep them hydrated. This varies year to year too, as some winters drag on foreverrrr and the flowers don’t come out til April-May! Some of them stick around for summer too which is always a treat!
If you want the location shown in this blog, they only bloom for about 2 weeks and this year it’s looking like they will be in peak bloom between May 5th-25th. Please reach out ASAP becasue I only have ONE spot left!!! Inquire here. I also just got a cancellation for May 7th so there is one addtional date open. $50 off if you take this spot since its coming up quick! Here are two examples of the location so you can decide if it’s for you! Example 1 & example 2.
Some popular spots for viewing wildflowers in Oregon include the Columbia River Gorge (my fave!) Mount Hood, and the Willamette Valley. These spots are especially great for those who enjoy adventuring, as they offer stunning views of wildflowers in their natural habitat. There are plenty of accessible spots to see them up close, and then there are times when the best flowers are inaccessible!
Some tips for finding wildflowers in Oregon:
Along the Columbia River Gorge is THE BEST location for a senior session in Oregon!! Located only 1.5 hours from Portland is my fave spot at Rowena Crest! This dreamy viewpoint makes for the best photo location for an adventure session! The viewpoint is open year-round, and the surrounding trails like McCall Point are open from May through October!
When planning your spring senior photo session in Oregon, it’s important to consider what to wear. Since you’ll be in a natural setting, it’s best to choose outfits that complement the environment without blending in too much.
Some tips for what to wear to your spring senior shoot:
Remember, the most important thing is to be comfortable and confident in your outfit. Choose something that makes you feel good and reflects your personal style. You may even bring a couple options and I can help you decide what would look best at your session! With the stunning backdrop of Oregon’s wildflowers, your photos are sure to turn out beautifully!
It’s super important that we remember to always stay on designated trails and be respectful of the environment when viewing wildflowers in Oregon. Enjoy the beauty of the PNW but leave it as you found them for others to enjoy! During your photoshoot, we will be mindful of staying in designated areas and not trampling over flowers!
