Senior photoshoots are such an important part of the high school experience. They provide a way to capture memories with friends before everyone goes their separate ways after graduation. These photos also serve as a way to document the growth and changes that happen during the high school years. In addition, senior photos can be used for graduation announcements, yearbook entries, and other keepsakes. Photoshoots with friends add an extra layer of fun to the experience. By planning a group senior photoshoot, you and your friends will create memories that will last a lifetime! So get ready to strike a pose with your besties and make some memories!
Looking for the best spot to take senior photos in Oregon?? I wrote a blog on the Top 5 Photoshoot Locations in Oregon! Living near Portland, I have the opportunity to do a ton of location scouting all across Oregon and the PNW! I’ve got a ton of exclusive location ideas for my clients and am always so happy to help you decide where the best place for your senior photos are based on your vision!! Whether that’s the coast, the Gorge, or a local field or forest. Choosing the right spot for a group photoshoot is important, especially depending on the size of your group! We will want enough space to roam around and get good shots with everyone looking and feeling their absolute best!
Here are some of the amazing senior photo location landscapes in Oregon to choose from:
This is the really fun part!! You’ve decided to get your senior photos done (YAY)! Now to dream up the perfect outfits! All of my senior sessions include 2-3 outfit changes! So you can bring a couple different options. I’m always happy to give any input on what would photograph well too! I love seeing each clients unique style come out at their session, but if you’re having trouble getting started here’s some ideas on what to wear:
Neutral/Earthy Tones. Think about the environment and the season. Imagine the colors of the landscape and how it makes you feel. PNW colors that always work: forest green, sandy beige, cloudy white, rusty amber, coal-black, earthy brown, blush pink, lavender, etc.
Texture/Patterns. Combing different fabrics adds a fun element to photographs! Choosing between soft and flowing like a silk dress, or rougher like a denim jacket. Cable knit sweaters and boyfriend jeans, a wind-swept dress and pair of trendy sneakers; you can dress up or down your outfit exactly how you like!
If you’re doing a group photoshoot with friends you’ll want to take into consideration everyone’s personal style and preferences, and then try and coordinate accordingly. You can make an outfit inspo board on Pinterest with colors you all like and styles you’re thinking of. OR opt for having 1 outfit all coordinate/match and then an outfit that is totally your vibe for individual photos! You can find a ton of senior photo outfit inspo on my Pinterest too!
Maybe you want ton include a personalized tough to your session – a prop can be a fun addition! Here are some prop ideas for a photoshoot!
