experience-centered photography for couples that want a beautifully documented + meaningful wedding day
Sarah and Eric booked me for their winter Treehouse Elopement in Southwest Washington, and I could not have been more excited!! We shot their engagement session in the fall; and then a couple of months they said I do in January!
Their fall engagement session took place on a warm October day near the Columbia River Gorge! Sarah and Eric wore the perfect engagement session outfits; so fitting for their autumn photoshoot in Oregon. Neutral, earthy tones go SO well in the PNW, and so does an umbrella (iykyk) If you’re wondering what to wear to your engagement session, here’s a couple easy tips:
And now onto their Winter Treehouse elopement! They chose this adorable treehouse Airbnb in near Horsethief Butte, and spent slow morning getting ready together! I love this idea: no stress on a timeline or worrying about a ton of guests. They made the day just about them two and their new adventure as husband and wife! They has a small ceremony in the snow, surrounded by a blanket of snow and tall pine trees. And then after making it official, we headed back inside and they played games, cut the cake and relaxed in the treehouse! And then at sunset we headed out to the hills overlooking the Columbia River Gorge for some epic golden hour romantics!!
Located just about an hour outside of Portland, OR to the west, and Mt. Hood to the South; Columbia Hills is the perfect elopement location. With expansive meadows and views of the Gorge and Mount Hood in the distance; there’s so much dreamy space for epic wedding photos! The sheer cliffs of Horsethief Butte gave these Washington elopement photos an international vibe, and was such a fun juxtaposition from the snowy treehouse elopement ceremony that was had earlier in the day! Washington has such a diverse and epic landscape; SO many amazing elopement location ideas have been added to my list for my clients!
Okay now onto the visual story of Sarah and Eric’s enchanting Treehouse Elopement!

[…] Booking a VRBO or Airbnb for your elopement/intimate wedding can be so awesome! Not only do you get a unique, comfy space to get ready and relax in, but you can book staycations for before and after your elopement! I recommend booking for at least 2 nights – that way you’re not rushing to pack/clean up right before or after your wedding! Always check the fingerprint details of what is allowed, and reach out to hosts if you plan on having any additional guests over. There has been an increase in strict event rules for some of these places, and we want to be respectful of the property hosts! Just imagine eloping at an enchanting Treehouse in the woods! […]
