Rowena Crest Bridal Portraits

One of my beautiful September brides reached out to do a pre-wedding bridal session and I said HECK YES!! We took these epic portraits at Rowena Crest near the Columbia River Gorge, and OMG did Kourtney rock it!!! This session inspired me to write this post on why you should book a bridal session before your wedding!

4 Reasons to Book a Bridal Session Before Your Wedding

Reason 1

It’s a great way to test out your hair and makeup before the big day!! Booking in a trial with your HMU is super smart because it will allow you the space to test it out in the elements, moving around, and getting comfortable with the style! Seeing the photos from your bridal gives you an idea of what you’ll look like in your wedding photos, and give you time if you decide there’s something you want to change about the look!

Reason 2

You can get more comfortable in front of the camera! A LOT of people are nervous about looking awkward or weird in their photos (they rarely EVER do though!!) But booking a bridal session can be a great way to warm up to the lens and feel more confident in your body language and posing! It’s also extra time with your photographer, and it always helps to build a strong relationship with them before the big day!

You have plenty of time to get ready! Sometimes weddings days can speed by, and you may find your makeup has been smudged by tears or sweat from an outdoor ceremony! At a bridal portrait session, you get to plan the whole day around getting ready for the photos! Which means you are going to look your absolute best, and not feel the stress of having to go do touchups.

You get more photos!! Sometimes wedding day timelines don’t always have a ton of room for extra portraits, but bridal sessions give you so much time! You have a whole session without the stress and chaos of sticking to a timeline and rushing off to cocktail hour or reception. This time is about you and it IS SO FUN!
