The day is yours. We will chat for 2 hours over coffee. After we’ve gone over what you’re hoping for and dreaming up I’ll take you to a 90 minute shoot where you get all the pointers from me. Posing, prompting, composition, camera settings, lenses, lighting, angles, etc! We'll also spend 30 minutes taking some brand photos for you!
This can be a couples session or a senior session (again, totally up to you!). You can choose the location or let me choose something for you! During our time together you are more than welcome to ask questions, ask for input, I'm an open book! If you're wanting to learn posing, camera settings, lighting, how to run a shoot, an in-person shoot is the best way to accomplish that. At the end of our time together I will analyze your Instagram and website for you and share my ideas on how to better engage your customer base and grow your business.

"I highly suggest a mentor session with Emily to other photographers because it was such an amazing experience! I think this mentor session is perfect for anyone - if you are just starting out or if you have been in this business for a long time. She puts so much care, effort and detail in trying to help you build the skills to take your business to the next level. Before I had my mentor session with Emily, there was so much I was struggling with - editing, posing, social media, camera settings, etc. We went over all of it, all of the questions I had, and she helped me with notes, reference guides, and making a to-do list with what I need to do to help improve my photography business. I learned so much from her and already feel so much more confident for my next session!
We went to a coffee shop and chatted for a couple hours and went over many topics like contracts, editing, social media, camera gear, to name a few! Then we went to do a practice shoot at a separate location and she taught me all about posing, camera settings, and lighting. There was great communication throughout the whole session and it was a great experience! I am so happy I decided to do it!
THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BOOK A MENTOR SESSION WITH EMILY!"
I reached out to Emily with the goal of expanding my knowledge within the photography industry, and I can honestly say she exceeded every expectation I had for a mentor session. Not only did she help me gain clarity and confidence in areas like pricing, editing, and client workflows, but she also pushed me to think about my business in ways I hadn’t considered before. There were so many takeaways from our session—things I didn’t even know I needed to implement, but now I realize how crucial they are for growth.
Emily is an absolute expert in the photography world, but what truly sets her apart is her genuine care and support for her mentees. She’s not just sharing knowledge for the sake of it—she’s invested in your success, and it shows in everything she does. Her thoughtful, approachable nature made it easy to ask questions and feel heard, and her guidance has given me a newfound confidence in my work.
If you’re feeling stuck, uninspired, or unsure of how to move forward, I can’t recommend Emily enough. She has an incredible ability to ignite passion and clarity, and you’ll walk away feeling energized and ready to take on whatever comes next in your career. I recently had a mentorship session with Emily, and it was an incredibly valuable experience! She was so kind, honest, and approachable. Emily provided me with a clear and practical roadmap on how to start my senior photography business, and I left the session feeling motivated and confident.
Her advice was not only thoughtful but also very actionable. She shared tools, tips, and strategies that I can use right away to build and grow my business. Emily's experience and insight really shined through, and I appreciated how genuinely invested she was.
Throughout the session, Emily took the time to understand my specific goals and challenges. She offered solutions tailored to my needs, which made her guidance even more impactful. Her ability to break down complex topics into simple, achievable steps gave me a clear direction to follow. I could tell she truly cares about helping others succeed.
If you're looking for a mentor who will guide you with care and honesty while equipping you with the tools to succeed, I highly recommend Emily. I'm so grateful for her support and can't wait to put everything I learned into practice!
"Before I had my mentor session with Emily there was a handful of things I was struggling with organization, figuring out Lightroom, presets, and fine tuning my camera setting knowledge to name a few. She taught me about settings I did not even know existed. I found it very helpful because I used to do a lot of trial and error with camera settings. I had a shoot the night following my mentor session and I felt so competent and comfortable with my settings. It was practically second nature which I’ve never experienced before.
Her organization is dialed in. She has all her photos triple backed up to ensure she never loses a gallery and she walked me through that process and why it’s super important, especially in wedding photography. She showed me the best external hard drives for that too. We also went through how to label each folder so files do not get misplaced.
We covered many topics in two short hours, yet it was very thorough. I am truly grateful for this experience and she made me a list of notes to go back and reference after our session. This is advice I will be able to use all throughout my photography journey and I would recommend a mentor session with Emily to everyone. You can really tell she’s been working hard at photography for the last seven years and has extensive knowledge. In addition, she is just a really cool person. You feel so comfortable the whole time. It was like meeting up with a friend (one who happens to be very well versed in all things photography).
Whether you’ve been at photography for a while or you’re just starting out. For a beginner, Emily can really show you the ropes of how to make photography your main gig and give you a really helpful crash course. I’m actually studying marketing in college so I can speak to this but Emily does a great job with reaching her target market and really knowing
what people want and how to give her clients the best possible experience. She is honestly just such a visionary and so organized and she has a lot to teach people no matter the skill level.
We wrapped the session up nicely with a little to do list that aligned with my budget and where I am with my business currently. I am now working on finding presets I like, building a site and inquiry form and saving for an external hard drive. Again, I’m so glad I got the opportunity to work with Emily! GO BOOK A MENTOR SESSION WITH HER!!!"
Before our session, I was feeling lost & didn’t know how to take the next step in making my photography business successful. Immediately after, I was so excited to put the tips Emily gave me into action. Because of our mentor session, I feel much more confident in my photography business as a whole!”
