The Location

South Fogarty Creek State Park is a recreational area on the coast of Oregon, and only about a 2-hour drive from Portland! Near Lincoln City, this piece of the coastline is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding or elopement! What’s so enchanting about this place is the lazy creek flows straight into the ocean from the enchanting coastal forest. The trail down to the shore is quick and easy from the parking lot, and there area plenty of additional trails around the park to make it an extended adventure! Just be sure to check the tides when planning a beachside wedding ceremony like this, I will always let my clients know what the best time of day is and can reccomend alternatives if the shoreline isn’t an option.

The Story

Karina and Myles reached out to me only 3 weeks before their big day!! They wanted only 8 guests (their closest family members) and wanted their day to be romantic and special. I picked up the florals for the event from my good friend Dakotah of @darlingelmco and drove to the coast to help the family members decide where to set up! I met Karina at the parking lot and took some photos of her mom and sister helping her get her dress all ready for the first look. We did the first look in a private forested area above the beach and Myles had the sweetest reaction to seeing Karina in her wedding dress for the first time.

After the first look, the ceremony was next! It was so beautiful. They celebrated afterwards on the beach by toasting with sparkling cider. Then we stayed on the beach for those epic Oregon coast wedding portraits! After that we headed back to their Airbnb for a self-catered Korean bbq in honor of where there relationship started! They met in South Korea when Myles was in the military and Karina was teaching there – how amazing is that?! They both reside in Washington now! They wore jerseys that they got at a soccer game in South Korea, and we headed out at sunset to take a few more portraits of them wearing them!
