Your senior picture outfits significantly affect how your senior pictures turn out. If you’re going for a certain vibe, you’ll want to plan out the vibe for your session and pick out the details so that everything goes together cohesively for that session.
I absolutely looove the dresses my seniors pick for their sessions! You can see how many of them have considered the vibe and location when choosing their outfits. Check out some of my past seniors:
First, you’ll want to think through where you want to take your senior pictures and book a package that will help you get that kind of location. You can view my senior picture packages here. I offer local and adventure sessions, and we can get super creative with your location to make sure you get the most out of your day!
Once you’ve decided on your location, start putting together style inspiration. If you book with me, I put together a mood board after chatting with you about the vibe you want to go for!! Use the mood board to plan your outfits. I’m here to help you with your outfits & a mood board is the best way to match a specific style or vision.
Some fun places to go for outfit inspiration are Pinterest, Urban Outfitters, Free People, magazines, Instagram and more. However, really trust your gut with this as you want to make sure you feel comfortable and love the outfit you’re in!
A big part of choosing your senior picture dress is figuring out your style. Don’t be afraid to show off your personality!
Neutrals are always a great option as they can go with a lot of backgrounds, from forest to ocean to cherry blossoms, but trust your gut on this! Patterns can be a fun addition to your photos as well. If you’re going to wear one, I recommend small patterns like tiny flowers, as they’ll go well with a lot of the areas that I take senior photos in. If you have a favorite color or style you like to wear, consider a pattern that will contribute to that vibe (for example, large floral prints are great for a dreamy and romantic look).
A fun little exercise is to figure out your color season to see what color tones go best with your skintone, hair color, and eyes. Here’s an article that talks more about color seasons, and there are lots of free quizzes online to help you figure out what your color palette is!
And of course, make sure you find something that’s within your budget! To figure out which session is right for you.
