If you’ve been dreaming of an intimate summer wedding on the coast of Oregon – THEN THIS BLOG IS FOR YOU! Even if you’re not looking to plan a beach ceremony like Ash and Jon’s, this beautiful Seal Rock Beach wedding will still make ya swoon! The classic PNW foggy vibes really came out to play as 35 of the couple’s friends n fam came out to celebrate (all the way from Arizona!) There were so many elements of this day that were so beautiful. From the way bride walked down the sandstone trails to meet her groom, to the epic bonfire style party that ended the night – this wedding truly was a coastal fairytale!
If you’re looking for where to elope in Oregon then consider Seal Rock State Park in Lincoln County! This enchanting spot has epic coastline and features lots of gorgeous spots on the trails for portraits. Positioned between Newport and Waldport, Seal Rock is the perfect destination for an intimate wedding! Only 2.5 hours away from Portland, this romantic seaside spot could be the perfect weekend destination wedding for you and your guests! There are a few spots nearby that could make for reception spots such as the Clearwater restaurant! They set up for the intimate dinner with dreamy ambient candles and cozy tables. While there aren’t too many places to stay directly by Seal Beach, there’s more options farther north like SCP Depoe Bay
There are always a few things to keep in mind when planning a coastal wedding, especially here in Oregon! The first thing is to check with the local regulations on if an event or wedding ceremony is allowed, and if so what the permit requirements are (if there are any.) This is something I can help you with as your Oregon elopement photographer! And since I have experience with a lot of the local beaches and states parks I can probably answer it right away! If not it’s just a quick phone call or email to the local park services. Another thing to keep in mind is the varying weather possibilities! Summer is a good time to plan a beach elopement in Oregon, however there is still always the chance of rain or heavy winds. Having a flexible mindset and an option B. is a great way to plan. And one last tip for planning a beach wedding is to be aware of the tides and trail accessibility! Not every guest may be able to scramble down a cliff to the beach, or be able to safely walk in the sand. It’s a great idea to explore your ceremony location ahead of time (maybe an adventure engagement session??)
